Default Chessbase 9 and Vista 32bit: Strange system beep

Some weeks ago, I installed CB9 under Vista Ultimate x64 and
everything was running fine. However, some other software -- AVM
Fritz! software for example -- won't run smoothly with x64. Thus, I
switched to Vista Ultimate 32bit. Unfortunately, each time when
clicking at a database symbol or a game in the list folder of
Chessbase 9, there's a loud beep from the system speaker. Turning off
sounds in control panel won't help, as the system beep is still there.
Is there someone around faced with this strange problem, too?

that's weird. surely Fritz was written for 32 bits machines, and you should
use your system at x64.

you should be able to turn the system speaker volume off from the advanced
properties of the Volume Control (in XP it is the file sndvol32.exe, in
Vista I don't know, probably you still double click on the sound icon on the
tray bar).

however you can access the Bios and shut up the system speaker (as
workaround).

I didn't switch to Vista, looks like it ain't no fun.

You would have to have rocks for brains for installing that spy utility that
tries to pass for an OS in the first place. If you think issues with CB9 are
fun, wait until you try to file share.
