While studying endgame position below:
White: King on d5, two Pawns on a5 and c6 Black: King on c8, Pawn on a6 I fired up Infinite Analysis function in Deep Fritz 8. Having Prof. Hyatt's tablebase, Deep Fritz 9 quickly shows in the Main Engine pane: 1. +- (#16): 1.Kc4 2. +- (#16): 1.Kd4 3. +- (#16): 1.Kc5 My question is: 1) How can I make Fritz actually display the actual mate in 16 in the Notation pane? Right-clicking the Main Engine pane and choosing "Copy to notation" merely copy the phrase "[DeepFritz 8: 1.Kc4 #16/0]" to the Notation pane. 2) The work-around to that is obviously by playing out the moves one-by-one. So in the Main Engine Pane: 1. +- (#16): 1.Kc4 after making that move 1. +- (#15): 1...Kb8 and so on. After actually playing out the moves, the Notation window gives: 1.Kc4 Kb8 2.Kd4 Kc8 3.Kd5 Kc7 4.Kc5 Kc8 5.Kb6 Kd8 6.Kb7 Ke7 7.c7 Kf6 8.Kxa6 Ke6 9.Kb6 Kd6 10.a6 Ke7 11.a7 Kd7 12.a8Q Ke7 13.c8Q Kf6 14.Qd5 Kg6 15.Qg4+ Kf6 16.Qde6# 1-0 How can I see all these without having to play it out? -- Remove "81" to reply via e-mail. |

Tools-Analysis-Deep Position Analysis and the Choose: Depth=10, Plus root=0 moves, Branching 1st-4th move=1, Branching=Both, Length of Variations=50 or more. Or Tools-Analysis-ShootOut and choose 1 game to be played. Or press SPACEBAR for 6 seconds. |
