Actually, several of my "losses" were draws, but hey, your expert programming team can't be expected to know *everything* about the game of chess. As I recall, I gave up on trying to get the bogus "losses" corrected, after watching what TK had to go through to protect his "perfect" record. Any there one who can beat "Help Bot"s Record??? He played all games without taking help from any Computer and beat records of all players and reached the Top Ranking. Actually, after failing in my attempt to create a second account (it said I already had an account with the nomorechess email address), I decided to risk my own incredible rating in a test of what would happen in a QN odds game against a top commercial program. Much to my surprise, the GetClub program held its piece advantage for a while, before suddenly succumbing to a complex combination which regained the piece for a pawn or two. After that, it was no contest. This game can be found by searching through my games looking for the unique opening sequence: 1. Nc3 d5 2. Nb5 a6 3. Na7!! At least I hope it is unique... . -- help bot |

* Actually, after failing in my attempt to create a
second account (it said I already had an account with the nomorechess email address), I decided to risk my own incredible rating in a test of what would happen in a QN odds game against a top commercial program. Here is that Game http://www.getclub.com/playgame.php?...012&game=Chess I am unable to see how it got a Extra Knight. Actually it lost its bishop after the 12th move. * Much to my surprise, the GetClub program held its piece advantage for a while, before suddenly succumbing to a complex combination which regained the piece for a pawn or two. After that, it was no contest. *This game can be found by searching through my games looking for the unique opening sequence: *1. Nc3 *d5 *2. Nb5 *a6 *3. Na7!! This is the Worst Opening ever played by GetClub Chess. Looking at the Game I found it played its first move in (16) seconds. So it do not follow the opening Book. Instead It was playing without Opening. Many times I have seen It do not play through the Opening, Looks like there is some bug. Here is the complete game. The game was Over at 12th Move only. As It was going a Bishop down for 2 pawns. I will find the game myself and post a link here. Note that there is only one game where I played Nc3-b5-a7, deliberately giving away the Knight. I only have control of one side, so I can't do a "proper" QN-odds game, in which the piece is simply removed before play begins. In this game, Black got in the moves: 1. ...d5 2. ...a6 However, the capture 3. ...Rxa7 is an inconvenience to Black. Much to my surprise, the GetClub program held its piece advantage for a while, before suddenly succumbing to a complex combination which regained the piece for a pawn or two. The game posted here by Sanny seems to indicate that he is not familiar with algebraic notation; instead of my Nc3 he found a recent game in which I played Nf3, for instance. -- help bot |

Here is a link to the correct game: http://www.getclub.com/playgame.php?...202&game=Chess So you used Computers help in that Game. No. What I did in that game was attempt to simulate a real QN-odds game between the GetClub program and a top commercial chess engine. I did not interfere except in three ways: 1. I decided the setting for the program's contempt factor. 2. I invented the moves by which the program would "hang" its Queen's Knight. 3. I decided when to play the move displayed, the cut-off time. There is a BIG difference between being a mere computer operator, and playing "with the aid of" a computer. For instance, I hated it when the program captured the pawn on e5, because it meant that two more pieces were going to get traded off "evenly". But... that decision was not mine to make, as I was just the operator. Thats why I though how you played so fast as with Beginner Level you think 1-2 min/ move So for Normal Level you will think 3-4 min/ move at Complex Position. But you took just 1-2 min against Normal Level. In this odds game, I considered it unfair to press the program to move quickly; instead, I gave it plenty of time. Had the odds been, say, a pawn, I would have set a limit to give the GetClub program a fair chance; perhaps one or two seconds. But such small odds are pointless; why not instead just give time odds? I was surprised to see your giving the Knight for no reasions. In a normal QN-odds game, that piece is simply removed before play begins; both programs would then be "out of book", and it is customary for the odds-giver to move first (as White). I believe it would be reasonable to play a Rook-odds game or match between these programs, but hanging the Rook is not so easy to accomplish in the first few moves. Ideally, the Rook would be removed before play begins, and it is customary to place White's QR-pawn on a3 instead of a2 (where it would be undefended due to the gambit Rook). -- help bot |

I do not like the idea of Playing with Riik odds. Why not you play with Normal & Master Level without use of Computer. Lets see how you score against the Normal/ Master Level. Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html I feel it would be much difficult to win them as they now play much good game. GetClub Program is only for Human Opponents. Those levels have very low ratings; I prefer to play the best. ;D I feel it would be much difficult to win them as they now play much good game. It takes me all night to play a single game against one of the top levels, and if I draw it gets scored as a loss for me. The only way I know to win against, say, the Advance level, is to hide behind a wall of locked center pawns, waiting for stupid mistakes. But against the Beginner level, I can have fun and gain rating points at the same time! Maybe *you* should play the higher levels, to get the ratings more in line with reality. Seriously, my notebook's cooling fan cranks at top speed all night long when I play the higher levels, and every disconnect means I have to reconnect and let the program think another hour to get back to where I was. I know the quality of play will go down the toilet when we reach the endgame, so I tend to trade down to drawable positions-- a bad habit to get into. I will play the top levels once in a while, it you *truly* believe there is some fantastic "improvement" which makes me lose like a carrot. But 99.9% of those comments amount to nothing but hot air-- say, do you know a player named nearly-IMnes? ;D I did not play at QN-odds to ridicule the GetClub program. As I said, the program held its piece advantage for a while, and where it lost the piece back there were immense complications. I also played out your game against Ivan from the lost position after ...Bh4+, just to see if a top chess engine could salvage something. It turned out that Fritz 5.32 only drew the "easy win"! Going back in time, we know that the Fritz 5.32 engine was considered to be grandmaster strength; but today's best engines are so strong that even a "weak GM" cannot stand the heat. Even so, I recently discovered a *simple* chess position where the top programs don't have a clue-- unless they are connected to the endgame table-bases, that is. The reason for these odds games is to display the "miracles" such programs can often pull off, as well as to highlight the immense differences in strength even at such high levels where both programs might crush 95%+ of human opponents. -- help bot |
