So, he's resigned as a Delegate. Will he also resign as a member of the
Executive Board?

Legalistic quibbling. His intention was clear, and no one of any
importance is disputing it.

If that's the level of discourse you use with your students, I suppose
we shouldn't be surprised by the declining state of the U.S. higher-
education system.

Channing clearly intended to resign his position on the EB. The only
circumstance under which this silly quibble would be of any
significance would be if he showed up at the next Board meeting and
tried to vote. The probability of this approaches zero, and in any
case would be of concern only to the other EB members.

For another example, run the webpage at http://www.cis.uab.edu/sloan/
through the validator at http://validator.w3.org/ and see what happens.

Was that part of the Guy Macon ******y Iceberg or was it somehow
on-topic in a way that was too subtle for me to notice?

It's a Zen thing. Sort of like one hand clapping.

And, the relevance to computer chess is...???

Why is it that Guy Macon is not allowed to comment on
someone top-posting but Kenneth Sloan *is* allowed to
comment on someone cross-posting? Are you under the
impression that you are so very, very special that the
rules you impose on others don't apply to you?
