in the sand". Note that Bill wrote the above today, June 9, 2008. However, the previous day, Hanon Russell, who has a contract under which he is required to pay to the USCF $150,000 every year, wrote two letters to Bill Goichberg which strongly implied the following: The Goichberg "New Plan", which will greatly reduce the numbers of copies of Chess Life and Chess Life for Kids that are distributed to the members, will have a negative impact on USCF Sales, since USCF Sales advertises in these publications. Therefore, it is unlikely that USCF Sales (i.e. Hanon Russell) will continue to be paying $150,000 annually to the USCF. Also, Hanon Russell is angry that the USCF made a secret undisclosed deal with a competitor, House of Staunton. As a result, Hanon Russell has handed this matter over to his attorneys. This makes it seem unlikely that Hanon Russell will be paying the $80,000 printer's bill the USCF says he owes. This pertains to a sales catalog that the USCF paid for but claims reimbursement from Hanon Russell. The USCF put that $80,000 in its year end 2008 balance sheet as an accounts receivable. It was this entry that it part converted a $57,000 loss to a $3,000 year end profit. The same thing happened regarding the year end 2005 fiscal year involving $185,000 then owed by Hanon Russell. Hanon Russell did not pay that $185,000 nor has he paid the current $80,000 and apparently he has no intention of doing so. He states in this latest letter that he will not discuss these matters. The insulting remarks made yesterday by board member Randy Bauer regarding Hanon Russell's son can only make the situation much worse. In spite of all this, Bill Goichberg is still writing above that his "New Plan" will "add about $86,000 to our bottom line in 2008-9" when it is evident that his New Plan will result in Hanon Russell no longer paying the USCF $150,000 per year and it also makes it unlikely that Hanon Russell will ever pay the $80,000 that the USCF says that he owes. From my perspective, if telling the straight and direct truth about something that I witnessed is insulting, well, don't shoot the messenger. Randy Bauer I do not know what Randy Bauer wrote in his first reply to Hanon Russell, and I am trying to find out. It was so objectionable that Susan Polgar has deleted it from her Blog with the following words: "(I removed this personal attack toward Mr. Russell's son because I feel that the text is quite unprofessional and completely inappropriate)." It must have been pretty bad since Susan apparently has no problem with her husband's obscene postings as the Fake Sam Sloan. Here is what Randy Bauer wrote in his second reply to Hanon Russell: Hanon, You can make all the claims you want about me and my supposed "untruths" but your son. You and I have had this discussion about what actually happened at the US Amateur Team East, and you know for a fact it is true. You are an attorney - put up or shut up. Randy Bauer |
