basic CB/Hiarcs question spreadsheet by ajbibi@gmail.com
In CB Light or Fritz/Hiarcs, how can I take the results of a search and export the columns to a spreadsheet? I don't mean the game moves, just the info about player, tournament, black, white, outcome, and number of moves? I'm especially interested in number of moves, because PGN files are delimited so I can read many of the variables, but I dont know how to get number of moves into a column in...

I can do a better job than Mig by Sam Sloan
I can do the website better than Mig or Paul Hoffman. My website www.samsloan.com speaks for itself. The USCF and AF4C should ask me to do their websites. Can anyone make that suggestion to them? Thank you. Sam Sloan

Scid Question - loading DB on startup by 42N83W
Windows XP Pro SP2 The help file says that I can have a database load at startup, but I'm not clear on what file the command line needs to be added to. Also, can the database I wish to add at startup be in a different directory than Scid? Can I load more than one database at startup? Thanks!!

Big News: AF4C is cheating the players by Sam Sloan
The Last Blunder The last post from San Diego... The last blunder of the US Championship turns out to have been made many months ago. As the saying goes, to err is human but to really screw things up you need a computer. Due to an error in an Excel spreadsheet formula used to calculate the prize fund distribution, the itemized prizes add up to around $20,000 more than the prize fund of $253,600....

starting position in Fritz/Shredder by Ange1o DePa1ma
Does anyone know how to play a game, at any time control, starting from a specified position (other than the starting position)? I recall Steve Lopez explaining this long ago, but I don't remember the drill. It would be great if the Fritz interface allowed you to store positions, recall them, set time controls and begin playing the engine. Angelo

Moving both sides by Muggs
Hello All, I'm sure that this is a simple matter, but I can't figure it out. I have Fritz9 and Arena. Is there any way that I can load a PGN file of a game I'm playing so that I can move BOTH sides WITHOUT engine analysis? I'm not talking about cheating, just being able to move both sides by myself so that I can work out my next move. If I try it in Arena with no engines loaded I get a "no...
