lego chess by Robert Low
My son has recently started playing chess at school, and we have Lego Chess at home for him to practice with. I was curious just how strong the Lego Chess program is: it has a 'difficulty' setting that runs from 0% to 100%, but I was wondering if anybody knew roughly what its ELO rating was. I tried scratching about on Google, but couldn't find anything there, so if anybody can point me at...

Getting the most from practice. by LSD
I think I've asked this before but I didn't get a memorable answer... If I'm playing/practising chess against my comp with a mind to maximize my improvement, is it better to play a game the whole way through without analysis, or evaluate the position with help of my comp on a move by move basis? Many say comp analysis is only good for immediate, tactical considerations, like a fork here or...

software to practice openings by mektucson
Is there a program out there that can do the following: I want to enter in limited openings for my son to practice. Ideally, the program would randomly play the openings from that entered and correct the user if a move is not in the database. Thanks in advance, Mark

Fritz9 3D boards by jacques
Hello, I cannot see the Photorealistic 3D boards with Fritz9, it tells me "you need to install DirectX from the CD in order to use 3D boards". I did not install Directx from the CD because I already have DirectX 9.0c on my computer. After clicking on OK, it dipslays this ugly old 3D board. My graphic card is a Geforce2 mx with 32 mb ram. Thanks.

Software to make interactive Javascript games online? by Matthew
Hi Everyone: I had been using Chessbase 9 for making html/javascript games from our chess club for posting online. The last couple of months I used Chessassistant 8 (it gives a many more options for the website visitor such as board size, color, chess font, etc.). I tried doing some searching online but wasn't able to find anything else that seemed really good. Do any of you know of or have a...

My serial number expired on my Chessbase 9 program by Alberich
I'm angry about this. Now I'm not allowed to get updates to Chessbase 9 without purchasing a new serial number?! There's no way I'm going to purchase another serial number for a 100 dollar program I installed a year ago. I'm reduced to downloading only weekly chess games from TWIC. I'm switching to playing practice poker against the computer instead...because it uses less resources than playing...

Fritz 9 vs Fritz 8 by Henri H. Arsenault
I got Fritz 9 for Christmas. I already have Fritz8. The Fritz8 engine is not included with Fritz9. Is there any way I can get it into Fritz9 so that I can play the engines against each other? I tried importing the UCI Fritz8 engine but it failed. Henri
