I like to watch engine tournaments and matches in fritz and shredder software. Now, after installing new software, when an engine game went with one engine running out of time, I suddenly get a new window on screen with "time", and I have to confirm with "ok" to get the tournement to continue. Before it just went on rightaway and registrated the score like normal. I want that back. Does anyone...

Hi, Just downloaded all KRPPKR-files from ftp://ftp.cis.uab.edu/pub/hyatt/TB/42p/ I have all 3-,4- and 5-man bases working fine. Now I did not succeed with KRPPKR. I Did not find promotion cases for KQRPKR, this would be also needeed? Can anybody tell if this is already published and where to get it?

Howdy all, I'm looking for software that can print (or save as graphic file) many games in a pgn file and do it all at once. I have some pgn files that have 300+ games, and I'd like to print diagrams of all (or some of the games), but I don't want to spend ten hours loading each game individually then printing it. I have inherited a PGN file with the piece names in French (R,D,T,F,C,P rather than K,Q,R,B,N,P). Can CB9 take care of a conversion? Or do I have to manually edit the file (and make the piece names "English")?

I want to send aome crafty analyis (html) to a friend who uses windows. I suppose I will have to send him my bitmaps also. What should I tell him to do with them? Or is there some simple way for him to install directly? Also the html output will have my path to the bitmap. Will I have to edit that by hand. I certainly hope not. Thanks for any help.

I have been building the Nalimov 5 man endgames using the Tablebase generator supplied with Shredder9. Shredder9 indeed uses the endgames but it crashes everytime when using the KRBKR tablebase. It may be because I have used the Optimize feature on Shredder to use over 75% of my RAM, but I am not sure why Shredder would need lots of RAM when using a tablebase. This sure looks like a bug to me....

Hi, I'm considering "upgrading" from my venerable Fritz 6 to one of the newer Fritz 8 range of programs, to benefit from the training systems. I'm a weak player, and normally play Fritz using the 5.32 engine at its lowest ELO rating. I'd like to go for the version of Fritz that has the more human-like play (Junior?). Can someone please confirm that it can play sensibly

My Fritz 8 has "lost" the ability to store thinking time with the game. Any ideas how I restore this feature? I need to work on my timekeeping... Store thinking time/evaluations/expected moves are all ticked Evalutation *is* stored correctly, but clock shows start times saved for every move. And I have tried unticking them and ticking them without success. I guess some bit of registry has gone...

I have all the games of a 9-round tournament entered in CB9. However - I am missing the ratings for most of the players. Is there a way I can edit a player's name, and globally change/enter the rating field? I don't want to have to go through each game one by one - which seems to be the only alternative.
