I forgot to tell that I need only the three and the four man endgames. Edgar Binder wrote: Hi, I need the Edwards endgame tablebase but google only gave me dead links. Does anyone know where I can download the files (or a generator)? The Nalimov's tablebase won't do unless someone can

Chess engine download website by jonathan.beckett
While looking for a downloadable version of Crafty the other day, I got slightly annoyed because I couldn't find it. Would anybody be interested in helping me build a website as a download repository for chess engines? - i.e. in the spirit of download.com, hotscripts and sourceforge - but only for chess engines. Maybe have a forum for discussion of their installation, configuration,...

Off Topic - Help appreciated by Bill Newton
I am not very computer literate,so please bear with me. My problem is that I was once able to 'click' on any blue highlighted Internet address in posted mail, and I would be taken automatically to the appropriate Web site. However I have done something wrong as I am now unable to do that. Clicking on any Web address now, produces no response at all.

Kasparov... by Fred
Speaking of Kasparov. I've been trying for sometime to locate a copy of the promo posters for Kasparov vs Deep Blue the first match that were plastered all over NYC prior to their match with a picture of an intense looking Kasparov and the catch phrase "How do you make a computer blink?" If anybody has one, please let me know. Obviously I'm interested in purchasing it or, if you do not wish to...

The Year of the USCF Election Fraud by samhsloan@yahoo.com
The Year of the USCF Election Fraud 2005 will become known as the Year of the USCF Election Fraud. Every election contains false statements by the candidates. However, this year and this election sets some sort of record for outrageously false and fraudulent statements. A flyer handed out in support of the so-called "team" of four running as a slate this year contains false statements about each...

add PGN & chessbase to google desktop search by cmcanulty
This is way beyond my computer skills but can some group member add pgn and chessbase files to the new google desktop search tool? It asks for people to add plugins of new files types. Then we could search our chess games with it. They recently added pdf and image files and it works great on those . It is MUCH faster than the search tool built into windows. The first time you use it it takes a...

Are we now back to the days of low wage for Chess Professionals? by linux4u@consultant.com
Thanks to Fischer there came Big Money to Professional Chess. Karpov, Kortchnoi, Kasparov, Short, Anand, & Kramnik were able to benefit from it. Now with Kasparov gone will any of the remaining Chess Professionals be able to draw such high wages. I for one don't think so, however I know that this remains to be seen?

Human+AI vs AI+AI by Debil Nebyl
I wonder if someone has done a reasonably scientific experiment by letting a decent human chess player use a strong chess program in a match against another copy of this very same chess program. In particular, I'd like to know if, say, a 2400 GM using a 2400 AI is able to gain strong advantage against the AI. To make the match more fair, the resources for the opponent AI could be doubled, so as...

Firtz 8 w/ Kasparov Training Video? by William F. McGill
Fritz 8 Deluxe box says it contains "Kasparov Training Videos". So far I have found only parts 3, 4, and 5 of his video on how to play the Queen's Gambit opening, starting his analysis at move 93. He appears to be making moves on a computer, but you can't see his screen. It seems this is just a come-on to buy his DVD on the QGD. Am I missing something? Are there any other "Kasparov Training...
