Yeas ago I read an online article, perhaps at Kasparov chess, about computers not being reliable at analysing some positions - such as a bunch of light-squared bishops and not recognising it as a draw. And various other examples. Can anyone point me the way where I could find this - I would be most grateful ! ! thanks

I recently purchased CB9 and assume it should integrate with Fritz8, i.e. File/Go to chessbase, should open CB9 and the CB9 should be the database not the reduced version in Fritz. When I use File/goto CB, nothing happens and I cannot locate a setting to connect the two. I am able to get to fritz from CB. Am I completely off track? Thanks,

Hi, Please can you suggest some software for teaching my 5 year old son chess? I had bought Chessmaster 6000 about 5 years ago for a Windows 98 PC. Now, my PC has Windows 2000 and Chessmaster does not run on that. I think it is too expensive a solution to ugrade to XP just because I want to run Chessmaster.

I just want to be able to set up positions,play moves then back up a few spaces...can I do this in the free chess pad...I tried a free d/l of hiarcs but I can only play a game..no back up,set up that I can find -- Thanks, Hank

I saw Fritz 8 Deluxe at EB this week. This seems like a new policy from Chessbase, which previously sold only through email dealers. I think it is a good idea, and should increase the sales of Fritz and the interest in chess. Henri

Hello, Following a system crash I re-installed Chess Tiger (version 15.1) on my palm. Everything's OK, except that whenever I touch a piece to move it, all the squares that it can move to are highlighted and I can't remember how to turn this feature off. Any ideas? Regards,

When I bought Fritz 8 about year ago, it came with a one year free subscription to playchess.com. Since my account is about to expire, I am thinking of buying a different chess engine instead of just getting a new serial number. Does Junior 9 come with a playchess subscription? Thanks, Abe

Where would I find Comet for Hiarcs8 and Junior8 (Chassbase)? These two applications came with working engines Comet B27 and B50. Those versions don't work with Winboard. I downloaded Comet B54, B55, B60 and B62. All of them work fine with Winboard but don't work with Chessbase. It looks like I need .dll and .eng files. TIA, Dan

I am interested in buying the Chessbase "Big Database 2005" It has around 2.9 million games and I am wondering if I can use it with Chess Assistant 7.1. I have used CA 7.1 with smaller Chessbase databases without a problem. Anybody tried this already?
