Chessmaster 10 demo by Henri Arsenault
I downloaded the demo for Chessmaster 10, but as a user who has Chessmaster 9 (as well as Fritz8 and others), the demo is not complete enough to give an idea if it is worth buying the new version for owners of CM9. For example there is almost nothing in the tutorials except a few titles, so one cannot get a feeling if they are the same as in the previous version (CM9 is worth buying for the...

Need help from PGN to Fritz by Joe Ancrile
A friend sent me an e-mail attachment with a game in PGN format. I would like to save it to a Fritz 5.32 database to play over the game. How could I do that, if at all? Thanks!

Fritz Software Upgrade ... ?? by sMh
"Thomas T. Veldhouse" wrote in news:4113e4a4$0$65602 : It used to be that when you logged into the Playchess.com site from within Fritz, it would query the server for a software upgrade, prompt you and then download the upgrade. Well, I rebuilt my computer the other day and did a fresh Fritz 8 install. I have logged into Playchess.com...

New Releases of Classic Chess Books - Help Request by Bugsy
Does anyone know a retailer / publisher that is re-printing the old classic chessbooks ? Authored by Ruy Lopez, Damiano etc.. I did some searches but cannot find anything. Seems this would be a niche market for someone with the entrepreneurial spirit :)

Chessmaster 10th Edition - Questions by Paolo Pignatelli
In Chessmaster 9000, the size of the board is fixed (in 2D mode, anyhow). Can one adjust the board size in 10th Edition? What, if any, are the differences in the teaching sections. I see from the ads that it is different, but HOW? TIA, Paolo

How do I dumb down Xboard/gnuchess? by Matt
I find my brain is not able to compete with my Athlon XP 2500+ Barton. How can I reduce the program's capabilities so I can have a chance of winning? I tried 'xboard -depth 1' but that didn't seem to help much. I am running Xboard/gnuchess on Fedora Core 1 Linux.

Chess Visualization Software by Aaron Deskins
Hello all, I came across this program below. The idea is to test your chess visualization skills, i.e. What color is e4? How many moves for a knight to move from h1 to h6, etc. http://www.janmatthies.info/chess/cvt/cvt.htm After seeing some of the exercizes (which are online), I thought that perhaps I could make a similar computer program. So I began my

Any mini-game player here? Great mini-game site www.shinegame.com! by Zero Lee
I'm a dithyrambic mini-game player. The mini games( normally under 10MB ) are very magnetic to me. They are funny and easy. Everyday, I download new games from http://www.shinegame.com, including Puzzle Games, Actions & Arcade Games, Mahjong, Jigsaw Puzzle Games, Word Games, etc. I strongly recommend this great site to every mini-game player! Enjoy! Zero...

Playing Computer Chess on Domestic TV? by kara rosco
Can I ask two questions? 1)Is there a way one can play beginners/entry level electronic chess via a domestic TV? Is there anything DVD based? Would it be possible to route a handset this way? 2)Which computer chess program(if any)would posters recommmend for an absolute beginner? Something with a move by move comment/instruction would be ideal.
