Mike Leahy Spams by JA
Yes, I tested month ago Bookup and I was understanding that he will send a one week mails to my address, which I agreed, but now, he starts sends more ads to my mail. (They are covered to look like a it has something question to you, and not a commercial mail, like usually spams tries to do...) Ironically, I didnt believe people who told this before I tried this, but now I believe. If you try...

Best small DOS program by Bob Newell
Seriously - could anyone recommend what they feel is the best small chess playing program that runs under good old MS-DOS? By "small" I mean that the program and all necessary files can be contained in a zip archive of roughly 1 MB. Why? I want to build a bootable floppy that is for chess and chess alone. Something that can be carried around and used anywhere. (I've done a number of these...

Majestic Chess? by newman
I have been tempted to buy this program because it looks very attractive. However I am afraid that this is something designed for patzers. Could anyone comment on whether this program would be worthwhile for anyone who is class B and above?

Fritz8 programs and Intel Hyper-Threading by SethB
Hope this question is not overly naive, but - Does anyone have any insight on how a computer processor with Intel Hyper-Threading, which in effect mimes a dual-processor system (the default config), handles computations from both the standard Fritz8 and the Fritz8 Dual Processor programs? Specifically: (a) Will Fritz8-Standard utilize 'significantly' less than full

fritz 8 question by newman
I have created a new database in Fritz 8. After I enter games into the database they all appear under the first index labeled "Games." For the life of me I can not figure out how to make entries that will be listed under other indexes (e.g. "tactics" "strategy" etc...). Can someone please help as the manuel is grossly incomplete. Thx

Should r.g.chess.computer become a moderated newsgroup? by Rob Fargher
Hi folks, The nearly mindless vendetta currently being executed by a couple of trolls has made this newsgroup nearly useless. The signal to noise ratio has plummeted and worthy participation has declined. The malfeasants show no signs of stopping. It seems to me to be time that r.g.c.c becomes a moderated newsgroup, to eliminate the nonsensical spam of Jason Repa. What say you?

Attn Mike Leahy: Bookup is spyware by Nonyz
I have received a few mails from people telling me that your program Bookup, contains spyware/malware and corrupted their Windows installation. One of them even claimed that the program completely corrupted his Windows registry and he had to reset the whole system (reinstall Windows and other programs.) He did say however, that he was able to recover most of his data files (Word & Excel...

A message for our spammer friend. by newman
I would like to offer a deal to this character who is slightly obsessed with "Bookup." If you stop spamming these groups, I promise never to purchase bookup. I will tell all my friends and enemies that if you install Bookup on your pc, you will probably go to hell when you die. Every day I will make it a point to think not-nice thoughts about this Mike Leahy person that you have been ranting...
