Palm computers capable to run ChessBase training CD's by
Denis Kholodar
Hello,
Sorry I don't know much about palm computers, but am I correct
thinking that such things are not yet available? I'm interested in
going through diagrams
of a training CD while on the go.
Thanks.
Denis

Bookup Pro via download by
Mike Leahy
Like ChessBase and Chess Assistant, the $199 Bookup 2000 Professional
has always come on CD ROM.
My excuse for not allowing it to be downloaded was its size. Enough
customers with broadband complained (and I found an installer that
gets it down to a single 39MB file) so for eleven days I let anyone who
registered on bookup.com download the Pro version for $99.
Two days later we sold more than...

chess diagramming tool by
Stevek
My daughter is going to start a news letter for her school chess team. Does
anyone know of an easy way to make chess diagrams (such as puzzles) that can
be displayed in Word or Publisher (or any other publishing software).
We have Chessbase and Fritz. Can these be used.

kN/s on Shredder 8 and Fritz 8 by
Liam Too
What does the kN/s mean?
If I run Shredder 8, the kN/s is around 300. However, if I run Fritz 8
the kN/s is around 1300.

Opening Book Training with Shredder 8.0 by
A Stuartgranti
Hello,
I'm getting back into chess again and picked up Shredder 8.0. From way
back when, I've got the Bangiev Chessbase King's Gambit training CD.
There's gotta be some way to use the info on that disc to suppliment or
strengthen Shredder's King's Gambit repritoire isn't there?
Thanks in advance!

Can FIDE really rate players down to 1001 ?? by
Sam Sloan
Can FIDE really rate players down to 1001 ??
FIDE has had a plan since Istanbul 2000 to rate all players down to
1001. The traditional floor for FIDE rated players was 2205 for men
and 1905 for women, but that floor has since been dropped several
times.
I feel that it would be a wonderful thing for FIDE to rate players
down to 1001. For example, Europe and Asia have no class prizes for
chess...

xboard vs eboard by
John Swartz
I'm looking to compile Crafty on OS X and wondering if I should use
xboard or eboard for a GUI. If anyone has tried them both (either under
OS X or other Unix variants), I appreciate their comments as to
preferences/bugs/features/etc.

Shootout from a prearrange position by
drummerman
How can you set up Fritz 8 to play two engines against each other from
a prearranged position? I can play two engines against each other
using engine vs engine. This, however, is from the start of a game.
Shootout seem to use just one engine when playing a prearranged
position. I must be overlooking something. Any help would be
appreciated.
