37. Be4! (Deep Blue-Kasparov 1997 Game 2) - can Fritz & Junior match Deep Blue? by Gregory Topov
The following sequence of moves is from Kasparov's loss with black in Game 2 of the 1997 Rematch with Deep Blue: 36. axb5 axb5 37.Be4! Because it gains material, both Kasparov and the world expected Deep Blue to play 36. Qb6 or 37. Qb6. Surprisingly, Deep Blue rejected material gain for positional advantage just as a human grandmaster would, by playing 36. axb5 axb5 37.Be4! Be4 stunned...

Deep Fritz 8 Reflection on 3D board option greyed-out by Pistarino
In my version of DF8 the 3d option "reflection on board" is greyed out. Is this normal? My graphic card is an NVidia Geforce 4. Thanks for the feedback

How does Shredder 8 compare to Deep Fritz 8? by GEACPS
Shredder 8 just came out last week and is being sold on the Chessbase site, but it is only half the price of Deep Fritz 8 which came out a month or so ago. Both are multi-processor capable so why the difference in price? Is DF8 possibly the stronger program?

Deactivating CM9000 opening video? by Gregory Topov
Anyone know if it's possible to deactivate the opening video when starting CM9000? I realize that a mouseclick will cancel the rest of the video, but is there an executable command or other workaround that will run the game without even starting the opening video? Thanks in advance for any tips! -- Gregory Topov --------------------------------------------------------------------- "I don't...

Fritz 8 Question #1 by Largo SQL Tools
What is the best way for me to "dumb down" Fritz 8? What I really like to be able to do is to set it to play at say 1300, then 1350, then 1400 etc. until I can no longer beat it. Is it possible to do this?
