Chessbase 9 and MS Frontpage? by Prince Bishop
I'm attempting to build our club website, and I wanted to use the java board in CB9 to enable readers to play through some games, but when I try to save games into Frontpage, CB9's java board becomes unplayable? Am I doing something wrong? Are they compatible? HELP!

I do not like recent improvements in google. by Sanny
Recently I find everything changed at Chess Groups. 1. I do not find list of Groups I recently visited at right corner. 2. When I reply a new Page do not come. 3. Every thing is written in very small font. 4. When replying it do not list all groups in the reply button. That need to be done manually. Is there a way to get back to original Google Groups Style as the new style is not good.

Chessville Vignettes - All by Chess One
Here is an idea to write 500 to 700 words on your favorite player, chess anecdote or event. The subject needn't be American, and this need not be an encyclopedic entry - but something to show the flavor of the life and times of a chessplayer - or even of a chess idea, as below. After recent criticisms here in these newsgroups - some of which are valid, but some include preferences which do...

I created a new poll for me to win by samsloan
Just to even out the odds, I inserted my name twice and removed Mikhail Korenman's name. We don't need any stinking Russian running anyway. Please be sure to vote for me as many times as you can. http://interactives.alxnet.com/cgi-bin/slither/Driver.py/InterActives/Poll/Poll.render?poll_id=32422 Sam Sloan

All Old Chess Books by Nomi
I am getting rid of all my chess books on ebay. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZoneguyksQQhtZ-1 (some as cheap as $1) Some of the books I have are rare now like No Regrets by Sairawan on Fishcer-Spassky 1992 and hardcover copy of The games of Tigran Petrosian (that someone is selling for something like $350 on amazon).

Great Success at last to GetClub. by Sanny
At last GetClub got great success in controlling the time. Beginner Level is too fast for a quick game. And also now the Strength of the Game has been improved. Each level will play stronger than before. Strong players were asking for more strength in the game as they win easily so it was descided to increase level of smaller levels to that of higher level to satisfy strong players need. Weak...

An old article about early chess computers! Quite amusing rant. by westgatealarms@gmail.com
I scanned this rant years ago from an old magazine, it's well worth the read. Quite funny in places. "Pity the Poor Chess Computer Buyer" :( If there was ever a blind item in the history of selling, the chess computer is it! When the commercial chess computer was introduced to the public some 8 years ago, the uninformed public was divided into two schools

Classic game commments in Chessmaster by markg9@yahoo.com
My kid has CM 9000 and was looking at some classic games that come with it. I'm not sure if the options are set up correctly, but there is only a brief comment shown on each game as opposed to analysis of every move (as I've seen in most good chess books). Is this available in CM or do we need to get some other game package? Thanks Mark

efficient in_check routine by Loomis Philanthrope
Hi all, I am trying to write an efficient routine to determine whether the king is in check. Any ideas you know of are welcome. I am using the 0x88 board representation. My current method is to loop over the opponents pieces and use the difference between the king square the the piece square as an index into an array that tells me if the piece could attack the king from that square. Then...
