Chessbase Website by Ange1o DePa1ma
Today's CB "report" on the Sofia tournament contained two links to videos that did not work, and a second link to "all games so far in PGN" that did not contain today's games (even though the results were listed). In fact the database file contained only nine games out of 18 played. I know CB likes to dump crap on their website and call it journalism. I can almost understand that, as covering...

CB9 - changes to "source" field by Mark Finn
I want to change some of the sources in my database. However - when I click on the "Source" tab and select the source I want to change (I want to blank it out completely), it shows me "Publication" and "Date" and insists that valid dates be entered. I want those fields to be blank. How can I so this (without exporting the games to PGN, editing out the offending data, and re-importing the games)?

Topa V Anand, Mtel Rnd 2 5/12/06 by Wilma
I just went through Topalov vs Anand, Round 2 of Mtel 2006. I was curious to see how there could be a win in a short Ruy game at the top level. You'd think all possible games with the closed Ruy Lopez had been played by now. I'm a mid range USCF expert, an insect compared to these guys, so I used CM9k to see where somebody went wrong. At what point do you start talking about who's winning? I...

Another Amazing Statement by Beatriz Marinello by stanbooz@accountant.com
Sam Sloan wrote: Another amazing statement by Beatriz Marinello. Here are some tidbits: "the situation in FIDE is improving.". The Situation in FIDE has been on a downhill slope ever since 1995 when Kirsan became President of FIDE. You think if there is a slight upturn (none is apparent) that makes everything OK.

Letter from Beatriz Marinello to my chess friends in the world by Andrew Zito
(Why you are doing this? You are hurting USCF and yourself. Don ) Because Marinello is a greedy bitch who only gives a **** about her own political career. How stupid are you to ask this question? Do you honestly believe that she has the best interest of the USCF at heart? Marinello has always been about herself. Wake up and smell the odor from Marinello! She married McArthur for a Greencard...

Fritz Trainer (ABC of Chess Openings) Question by Jim Sant
I am running a legal fully up to date Fritz 8 on my computer. I recently bought the Fritiz Training, Andrew Martin, The ABC of Chess Openings DVD. It's very nice except I have a problem. How do I switch from one chapter to the next without the program crashing? There is no fast forward that I can see or chapter skip buttons that work, so I try to do it by closing the current window and then...

Chess program with no installation by nostrebornitsuj@hotmail.com
I'm running a chess club at a school in the UK but we don't have a regular room so I need some chess software I can carry around on a USB thumb drive. I have several great programs, including Fritz 9, but I need something that just runs from an exe file and doesn't register with the OS. The best I've found is BabyChess, but the Windows versions don't support position set-up, or importing of PGN...

Fritz Tecniktrainer 2 by Henri Arsenault
Here are my comments about this Fritz Techniktrainer 2 Chessbase CD and some interesting observations. This training presents you with a winning position in a Steinitz game, and you have to play the won game against Fritz hopefully to the winning end. With Fritz 9 at full strength, it will mercilessly exploit any mistake you make. Of course you can take back moves, but it is tough to win a won...

Same old crap by The Historian
The CJA paid for Hanken (or Hanken stole money from the CJA). The USCF paid for Benjamin to represent American born GMs (all 5 of them). Don gave a big $100,000 bribe to Jen Shahade and Paul Hoffman for Greg's loyalty. What has Shahade done so far beside collecting her big fat paycheck? So what else is new? It's just the same old crap with Hanken, Nolan, Lawrence, Goichberg, Schultz, Marinello,...

Chess game improved twice Better now by Sanny
I Wonder playing Chess with computer as now it gives twice better moves. Play at : http://www.softtanks.com/chessgame/Chess.html The game now uses better technique which made it about twice better while making moves in same time. So the Beginner level will also give a good challenge to new players. However those a bit better at Chess should start playing with Easy
