Default Are A Lot Of Chess Players Kooks?

I heard a story of a player who got upset during a game and tossed his
chair accross the room but he was not kicked out or banned because it
turned out the fellow had forgotten his psychiatric medication that
morning and it was the man's psychiatrist who had recommended chess as
a way to calm and sooth the mans explosive anger. Presumably he was
allowed to play after he had "taken his medication". Better he play
chess than to beat his wife or kids, eh?

I will argue my appeal before the Supreme Court of New York -
Appellate Division - Second Department tomorrow, August 18, 2004.

Who cares?

Advice and opinions on how I should argue my appeal is welcome.

Tell them you're a bumbling idiot looking for attention and have nothing
better to do with your time and money because you have three wives, eight
children, and no job so you might as well look for that brief flash in the
pan of celebrity in the New York Supreme Court before insanity takes over
completely. Maybe they'll pity you and NOT throw you out on your can this
time.

I came to the chess NG to read about what was going on with Bobby.
After reading about his life, I came to the conclusion that the guy
had a pretty depressing family life as a child and is probably
bonkers. His mother was a real piece or work. I feel sorry for the
guy.

However, after reading about Sam Sloan and a few stories posted by
people playing matches against chess players that have bad hygiene,
open sores on their arms, etc - I have come to the conclusion that
chess players have a fairly high ratio of kooks & loons among them.

Is this a fairly accurate statement?

There's a story that Joseph Blackburne threw his opponet out of a window for
beating him in a game.
