Such a title should be used solely for chess advertisement but not for
honorary distinguishment.

You mean just like "FIDE World Champion"?

Correct. Anyway, Rustam Kasimdzhanov can boast in the future to his grand
children "Once upon a time I was a FIDE World Champion" ...

Jerzy

Thus maybe it`s an answer from the heavens above :-)

Don't you know that Kirsan is a reincarnation of Tarrasch?

No, he is claimed to be the 69th reincarnation of Chinggis (Genghis) Khaan
:-)

Tarrasch was #68, Kirsan #69.

At midpoint of the tournament, after Round 5, Nisipeanu leads with 4 points.

Kasimdzhanov does not too bad at second place with 3.5 points, but he played
a non-game of only 9 moves in Round 5.

Ganguly won against Sutovsky in a rather strange game, wherein the latter
who was at first place after Round 4 probably thought that he could simply
overrun the cellar dweller, but the thought backfired.

No, then he would have, for sure, played better chess.
Tarrasch was a chess professor, Ilyumzhinov is merely a chess amateur.
One doesn`t forget one`s skills so easily even in the next incarnation :-)

Jerzy

Kirsan did too much boxing, it shows in everything he does.

I thought Super GM's were all over 2700. There is not one player above 2700
in this tournament. How can u call it a Super GM?

Ah, you kids. Why when I was a young woodpusher, 2650 was a super
DUPER GM!!!
And we got our chess news from MAGAZINES! Two months LATER! And
Bobby Fischer had HAIR!!! And chess computers (those table top
thingies with the red lights) were rated all the way up to 1500!!!

But you tell that to kids these days, they don't believe ya, buncha
long-haired hippies, fratzin' fargin' mumble mumble drool....

Chess in boxing is a very useful thing. Look at World Champ Lennox Lewis or
Klichko brothers who play chess well. Another World Champ "Tiger"
Michalczewski compares boxing to chess. However I don`t know whether the
opposite is true. :-)

Jerzy

The opposite is also true, boxing in chess is useful to persuade the
opponent to resign in better position.

Dear "gwshogi",

Heil Dubya!

You don't go back very far, do you? There are MANY of us who remember when a
GM with a 2600 rating was a realio trulio super deluxe GM.

Heute Uhmuhrikkka, Afghanistan, Irak und Häiti. Morgen di ganze Welt!

Uhmuhrikkka, Uhmuhrikkka über Alles!

(The more information that comes out about the attacks on the Twin Towers and
the Pentagon of 11 September 2001 the more it appears that those attacks were
organized by the rulers of the United States and were intended to have the same
effect on the people of the United States that the Reichstag fire had on the
people of Germany in 1933.)

Fight terrorism! Dissolve the CIA and disarm the Pentagon! (I have watched
the hearings of the Commission to investigate the attacks on the Twin Towers
and the Pentagon of 11 September 2001. As a result, I have become convinced
that every one of the witnesses and their four Presidents - and every one of
the Commissioners - should be tried for:
(1. Conspiracy to commit terrorism; and/or
(2. Commission of terrorist acts; and/or
(3. Conspiracy to commit murder; and/or
(4. Commission of murder; and/or
(5. Treason; and/or
(6. Suborning one or more of the above acts.)

Fraternally,

Jerome Bibuld
