Isn't it obvious that God didn't want people to live in Florida? Why do you think He invented Yellow Fever? He could, if He chose send each of these hurricanes to Gotham - or even to Texas, but that isn't the Plan. There is no reason why people cannot live in Florida. They simply have to build their houses and other buildings much stronger to withstand gale-force winds, annihilate mosquitoes, watch out for gators and snakes, avoid sunburn, take care when entering the water because of sharks and jellyfish, and evacuate whenever a "force 6" hurricane comes along. Compare these minor inconveniences to the fate of people who live at the foot of active volcanoes, or on islands which are barely above sea level. And what about those Africans who, on occasion, have to pull their loved ones out of the mouth of some crockodile? Or worse still, go home alone, shaking their heads and muttering to themselves: "I told them not to mess around with hyppos." No, if God did not want people to live in Florida, He would simply have submerged the whole pennensula into the sea (like He did with Atlantis). :-) |
