I'm wondering how the Yahoo! Games ratings compare to those of USCF,
CFC or FIDE. If anybody has any data or noticed any trends, it would be interesting to compare the scales. For example, if I have a 1180 Yahoo! Games rating, what might be the equivalent rating under another system? Peace, Sonja www.kisa.ca |

Peace, Sonja www.kisa.ca A Yahoo! rating of 1180 might translate into a rating of 1000 USCF. The standard rule of thumb I've always heard (and which seems to be fairly accurate) is to take your online rating and subtract approximately 200 and you'll have what your USCF rating would probably be. (Matt) =============== Not true for ICC blitz ratings. A typical 1700 ICC blitz player with several hundred games under his belt is stronger than a USCF otb 1700. All you have to do is "finger" the various players and you'll see many 1700 blitz players with USCF 1800 - 2000 ratings. And.. many of these ICC guys simply play more sophisticated chess than the typical USCF 1700. You can "feel" it while you're playing them. RSHaas |
