What is the best English translation of My System?

Whatever you get, avoid the dreadful version translated by Jan van
Reek (Chess Digest 1996). I can't say what translation is the best,
but this is perhaps the worst.

Taylor Kingston

In what way is it a bad translation? Can you speak German?

(Aren't you the Taylor Kingston whio made a prize idiot of yourself by being
unable to translate British English into American, taking to task Paul
Motwani for bad grammer saying that "vice like grip" was not English - and
then when it was pointed out to you, you changed the review you had written
to say that "although perfectly good" it wasn't appropriate? LOL!)

Anyway, that aside, tell me why the Chess Digest's version is such a bad
translation. Linguisic genius that you are.

While one needs to be proficient in both languages in order to assert
that a translation is good, one needs to be proficient only in the
target language in order to know that a translation is bad. For example,
it may contain poor 'grammer', as you call it.

Nonsense.

Yes, good point; it may also contain nonsense.
