I have a file of some 874 games if you'd like it. This is a really off the wall
opening that I will be examining and MAY even play it in the next tournament. Regards, Jeff |

Regards, Jeff What is your suggested line for white after 2...Nxg4 3.e4 d6 4.Be2 Nf6 5.Nc3 e5? This is recommended by Watson, and there were some discussions about it several years ago on this newgroup. A Google search will probably find some information. Personally, I'd prefer to be black with a solid pawn structure and an extra pawn. Randy Bauer |

After
d4 Nf6 2.g4 Nxg4 3.3.e4 d6 4.Be2 Nf6 5.Nc3 e5 i think 6.dxe is the way to go for example 6.dxe dxe 7.Qxd8 Kxd8 8.Nf3 white has a good lead in development for the pawn, it is not so easy for black to unravel, i believe the position to be roughly equal. Having said that, if white does not like this line then 6.Nf3 should also be ok for white, again the lead in development gives some compensation for the pawn. The open g file also makes black think twice about castling Nick http://www.chesstipster.com the home of the Gibbens-Weidenhagen gambit What is your suggested line for white after 2...Nxg4 3.e4 d6 4.Be2 Nf6 5.Nc3 e5? Having said that, I just tried this opening a couple times on ICC and had some great luck with it. It's funny to make the 2. g4 move, and then see your opponents clock click down as he thinks to himself, "What the hell was *that*?" |
