Default Lev Khariton: Kingston's reputation in Russia

When some years ago I sent my chess friends in Russia, very competent
chess players and journalists, Kingston's article on Botvinnik and
Keres, they were amazed that I was reading such a "historian". To begin
with, no one knew his name. Some of them called him a liar and
character assassin. Even a mud-slinger.I was trying to defend him, but
all in vain... Lev Khariton

Thank you, Lev. My research on this subject continues. I am always
interested in new information. So if you will be so kind as to send me
any specific facts your friends have offered, along with supporting
references, I will be glad to take it into account in any further work
I may do on this topic.

Taylor,
If I defended even you who have been accusing me of plagiarism for many
years , you can very well imagine that I will never give you away the
names of my friends.Lev Khariton

What a strange thing to say, Lev. I did not ask for the names of any
of your friends. I asked for "any specific facts your friends have
offered, along with supporting references."

Taylor,
Do you think I have time and leisure to analyse your writings?
How can you cooperate with anyone when you accuse him of being a crook
in front of the whole world?
One must be totally out of his mind to behave like that.

Lev, this time I agree with you. Personal 'polemics' have reached an
unbelievable height and temperature on rgc* newsgroups. It`s distasteful.
