Convicted Felon Sam Sloan on McCutcheon

Among modernly named openings, the MacCutcheon Variation was nasmed (sic) after a patzer named MacCutcheon who played it in a simultaneous exhibition against Steinitz. His name was John L. McCutcheon, not "MacCutcheon". As for his playing strength, McCutcheon defeated Lasker in a correspondence game.
