I'm a novice player and lose most tournament games. I'd like to go over and analyze the games at home, but find that I've usually made errors in recording the games. These errors prevent me from analyzing most of the game. Any tips on how better to record games in a tournament? One idea that comes to mind is that you could play a few games against the computer while writing the moves down yourself for practice. One idea that comes to mind is that you could play a few games against
the computer while writing the moves down yourself for practice. Dave. Excellent idea! BTW, I was talking tonight with the fellow I played last week and he thought we could piece together last weeks game. However, I was given a bye and I didn't stick around. I made a decision which may sound odd but here goes. Just before the games started, a fellow showed up who wasn't in the tournament but wanted to play. The T.D. offered me a game with him, saying I would get my one point for the bye regardless. I asked his rating. About 1600. I said no. Its just a feeling but I don't like playing against someone this much better then me. I don't learn that much - we speak different languages. Also, my self-confidence is really battered. Next week I should play against someone rated 900; I might have a chance if I don't blow it. Dan |
