In 2006, they're going to make you stuff a live porcupine down your
pants every time you put your opponent's king in check. Also, new chess
clocks will give you an electric shock each time you press the button,
and they're going to require new boards bearing naked pictures of Sam
Sloan and Bourbaki.

So far, most of the complaints to FIDE have concerned the third measure.

Naked pictures of Sam Sloan !
Must be horrible.

You've misread the rules update. Article 15.3 actually says that you can
stuff a live porcupine down your opponent's pants every time he says
``check'' after putting you in check. Note also Article 15.4: ``A player
whose opponent writes down his moves before making them may stuff one live
frog down his opponent's pants for each move written down before being
made and two live frogs for each move written down and crossed out without
being made.'' I wholeheartedly approve.
