"Sam Sloan" You're a Dick. That's why no one will defend you.
I thought you were the Dick. I am just Smegma. That runny slime that oozes out of you when you aren't talking (and I don't mean Syphillis). |

I have posted on Wikipedia a List of Authors Banned or Blacklisted by USCF Sales. ... _ * Anatoly Karpov * Ron Henley * Raymond Keene * Eric Schiller * Larry Parr * Don Schultz * Sam Sloan _ After some objections from me, Sam Sloan wrote at Wikipedia (11:16, 29 December 2005 (UTC)): by way of compromise and to save bandwidth, I am willing to take Karpov off the list of blacklisted authors, if that will satisfy Louis Blair. _ At that time, Anatoly Karpov and Sam Sloan disappeared from the list. I and others continued to object. Subsequently, Sam Sloan's "blacklist" disappeared from Wikipedia altogether and he was advised by a Wikipedia administrator (06:37, 3 January 2006 (UTC)) to refrain from reinstating the blacklist at Wikipedia until he could find appropriate reliable sources. If Sam Sloan continues his attempts to include [the blacklist] in the article against the consensus formed by other editors on this page, I will reluctantly have to impose a block. _ I can't resist posting a little bit more of the exchange. _ "I do not appreciate [the Wikipedia administrator] threatening to block me based upon a complaint by Bill Brock who is a complete nobody in the world of chess." - Sam Sloan (06:45, 4 January 2006 (UTC)) _ "The so-called 'threat' to block is completely within the blocking policy (either under the 'Excessive reverts' or 'Users who exhaust the community's patience' clauses). In my talk page you also stated that I deleted Tom Dorsch on the complaint of Bill Brock, which is incorrect; the article was deleted as a result of the deletion policy and follows the procedures outlined in the guide to deletion." - the Wikipedia administrator (07:13, 4 January 2006 (UTC)) |

[Wikipedia administrator] has become the alter ego and willing agent of Bill Brock. If [Wikipedia administrator] does not cease and desist from this activity, I will appeal to the higher authorities to remove the administrator status of [Wikipedia administrator] and ultimately to block [Wikipedia administrator] from Wikipedia." - Sam Sloan (07:04, 5 January 2006 (UTC)) _ It seems that the "higher authorities" are about to get a very good idea about the sort of person they are dealing with. Perhaps another application of the "Users who exhaust the community's patience" clause is not far off. |

Since you doubt it, why not try to buy a book by one of these authors, and see what happens? For example, they sell exactly one book by Keene, just so they can claim that they are not blacklisting him, but Keene has written more than one hundred chess books. Go to Barnes and Noble and you will see an entire shelf of books by Keene and Schiller which you cannot get from Chess Cafe. I would not care as long as Chess Cafe pays the money they owe us, but they defaulted on a $185,000 payment. They blame low sales, but since they are refusing to sell the most popular books, that is not a valid excuse. Sam Sloan |

I just did the same thing at B&N, even asked their buyer the basis of their buying patterns - sales, he said, volume of sales. I would not care as long as Chess Cafe pays the money they owe us, but they defaulted on a $185,000 payment. They blame low sales, but since they are refusing to sell the most popular books, that is not a valid excuse. Instead their is a reward for their practices, by priovate session, without competitive bids after the first round - they lost the first round - the now have a monopoly until Kirsan dies ![]() Phil Sam Sloan |
