"Sam Sloan" Authors Banned or Blacklisted by USCF Sales
_
* Anatoly Karpov
* Ron Henley
* Raymond Keene
* Eric Schiller
* Larry Parr
* Don Schultz
* Sam Sloan

_
The Wikipedia verdict:
_
"If Sam Sloan is basing his contribution of a blacklist
based on conversations (newsgroup or otherwise),
emails, or his own suspicions that such a blacklist
exists, that is by definition original research and is not
allowed. However, if he were to cite reliable sources
that declare its existence, then its mention may be
included. This is non-negotiable. If Sam Sloan
continues his attempts to include this in the article
against the consensus formed by other editors on this
page, I will reluctantly have to impose a block."

That was the statement made by non-chess player Howard Cheng who had
just been made a Wikipedia administrator on December 27, 2005 just
seven days before he made the above stupid posting.

He made the above stupid statement in response to a complaint to
Wikipedia by none other than Louis Blair here.

Please note than in your list below, you only list DVDs produced within
the last year, except for one very recently published book.

Can you provide any examples of previously published books by Keene,
Schiller or any of the other blacklisted authors which were published
and carried before the blacklisting charge was made?

As I have said before, all I want is for Chess Cafe to pay us the money
they owe us. As long as they pay the $185,000 they owe, they can
blacklist anybody they want.

Sam Sloan

Sam Sloan wrote (10 Jun 2006 13:42:56 -0700):
[USCF Sales sells] exactly one book by Keene, just so they
can claim that they are not blacklisting him, but Keene has
written more than one hundred chess books.
_
Go to Barnes and Noble and you will see an entire shelf of
books by Keene and Schiller which you cannot get from
Chess Cafe.

_
I wrote (10 Jun 2006 23:00:07 -0700):
Apart from items in their "MASSIVELY REDUCED" section,
Chess4Less sells two books by GM Keene.
_
My own experience does not confirm [what Sam Sloan writes
about Barnes and Noble]. I suggest personal investigation to
those who are interested. In any event,

Right you are! Aron Nimzowitsch: A Reappraisal by Keene is
the one and only book by Keene that Chess Cafe sells, unless
they have added another book recently.
_
How do you explain the fact that Keene has written more than
100 chess books and is also the chess columnist for the Times
of London, and yet Chess Cafe only sells one book by Keene?
_
Does it have something to do with the fact that Taylor Kingston
attacks Keene all the time?

_
What reason is there to believe that the explanation of uscfsales
policy is very different from the explanation of chess4less policy?

There were objections to the blacklist claim from a number of
individuals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Chess_Life

There are three books in the list I posted.

I am writing about the present. If Sam Sloan wants to make claims
about the past, it is up to him to document them (with specific dates
for specific events).

No. But they banned you.

Go take a look. You are not allowed to post there any more.
