What movie? There is no movie, just my speculating. At 52 minutes into
the Spider-Man DVD (the first movie), where Peter Parker is in his room crying over the death of his Uncle, there is head shot of him looking to the right. High cheekbones, haircut, chin, and his pose makes him resemble Fischer ca. 1970, particularly a photo where Fischer is staring a chessboard (what else is new) just before the Spassky match in '72. Maybe I have drunk too many Coronas tonight, but be that as it may, the facial resemblance is noticeable and striking for just a couple of moments. Too bad that he's not 6-2 or whatever height Fischer is. Too bad that a movie would be a hopeless Hollywood mishmash. Too bad Fischer does not play anymore. A tragic change of life for a majestic mind. I always found the Fischer story to be sad beyond belief - until the endless anti-Semitic, anti-USA rants - or maybe because of them. I will never understand Fischer. I love to use Fritz to analyze his games, and I've read everything I can find about him, and none of it seems to make sense. Almost surreal, the life he led, and the incredible depths to which he has fallen. Or maybe I am completely wrong, and he was always the way he is now, just that it was submerged. I guess nowadays most folks think that Karpov would have beaten him in '75, and that a match between him and Kasparov would be a joke, but for all that, Fischer changed chess forever. |

I don't think that Kasparov would have beaten Spider-Man. |

I don't think that Kasparov would have beaten Spider-Man. Maybe he has bitten him. Greetings, Ralf |

I thought John Cassavetes looked a lot like Bobby Fischer in the 60s and
early 70s. cheers dd |
