Is this guy on fire or what! Now it says on chessbase that the match
between Kramnik and Topalov may be off, or tentative whatever that means. Sounds like Kramnik is getting nervous. However for Topalov to even consider an alternative match other than with Kramnik ( though Anand would be an excellent substitute ) and pick Radjabov would be the old days of chess in the 20's and 30's. Who has the most money. EZoto *** Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com *** |

Who has the most money. No matter whom Topa will play, Radja or Kramnik, it will be an interesting match. Notice that thanks to the new FIDE rule the current situation returned to the pre-FIDE times when everybody could challenge champion only if one could manage to assure enough high prize fund. However why should nowadays both players give 20% of the prize fund to FIDE ? It makes FIDE an unnecessary organization :-) |

"Give us 20% of the take, or we'll declare your title invalid, like we did Kasparov's after the Short match, and we'll make our own champion." The players pay up or FIDE keeps the Champion's title divided and essentially worthless. Even when Kasparov was active, FIDE's accumulated clout was impossible to overcome. How could, say, Kramnik the Invisible Man, now scarcely in the world's top ten, avoid this? I would like to see an Anand-Topalov match, if only in the hope that Anand's likely collapse as a long match goes into the latter stages would finally quiet the apologists who claim that Anand should be the World Champion, were it not for the Prague agreement, or the WC tournament structure, or the what-have-you-this-week depriving him of his place in the sun. |

(does this mean the same for your title Mr. Ciruk?) It would seem though that 20% of something is preferred to 20% of 'nada'.. Dog bites man's hand.. |

Anand has been playing @ the highest level for some time now. He could've been there (world ch.)if it were'nt for the **** attitude of the mostly olive-hued organisers. My belief is he struggles now from 'burnout' (shame). And what of Micky Adams? never to be heard of again after his ill-fated joust with 'hydra' tut, tut. There is Aronian however, just so recently taken to the 'cleaners' by Mr. Kramnik.. |

I think that his opponents willingly would see him out of the play on his chess retirement as Kasparov did recently ;-) However I can see that young chess prodigy Magnus Carlsen has beaten all of his opponents including Anand in the strongest blitz ever in Iceland so what about his match against Topa ? |

As a seasoned chess combatant Jerzy, you _must_ know 1) no one knows & 2)logically - no one cares. I certainly don't care about your stupid FM title. Maybe your Mum or Dad does. Have you asked them?. Do you think Topalov can do it?.. |

He really should take a break & let the young guns pull themselves with gusto everyday. Magnus I haven't got much time for. Aronian _is_ the coming thing - surely. No?.. That`s why he does not boast having his GM title. There are so many titled players in the world today and Short is not like them, he is the only one ;-) |
