Well, Jessie Kraai is rated above 2500 USCF, so that's enough name for
me. However, I wasn't excited enough by their free video to sign up. The free video was titled, "Fried Liver Attack, Part I". The author covers lines in the Two Knights Defense, 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 d5 5. exd5 Nxd5. He advocates that rather than playing the immediate 6. Nxf7 (Fried Liver Attack), white should delay the blow with 6. d4 (Lolli Attack). He mentioned Fischer liked to play 6. d4. He treats d4 as a surprising move rather than calling it by its proper name, the Lolli Attack, which would have helped viewers further research these lines. Unfortunately, he focuses on Black's weakest replies rather than the most common or strongest replies. For example, in the line 6. ... Nxd4 7. c3 he covers Black's responses as 7 ... Nc6 and 7. ... c3 which immediately lose. Black has three stronger tries: f6, h6, or possibly Be7. In fact, in my chess database, h6 is the most common reply. He at least mentions 5. ... Nxd5 is a mistake and promises to show Black's other choices later on. I think I'll watch their free videos, but spend my limited funds elsewhere. Has anyone tried this? Yes and it's not so interesting. There are a bunch of no names doing the lectures. The site is crap! There is a reason that no freebies is given :-) |
