Easy 30-60 seconds
Normal 1-2 minutes.

I've tried a few unrecorded games in the last few days. Rather than 10-20 seconds, it
takes anywhere from 10 to 90 *_minutes_* for most moves, and it still

improvement done.

Now it analyse it's move in great detail before making it.

And has failed to make its moves in 10-20 seconds per move on beginner

Most moves of bginner level are made in 20 seconds. only for a few
moves it searches till 1 minute.

There is really no need to invent fictional stories here.
Fairly recently, I was playing the "improved" program
when I noticed that the depth indicator, which presumably
shows the depth of search in plys, ran itself upwards of
several hundred plys. Now that is one fast program! I
was in the process of delivering mate, so the program was
going to "hang" its King in every line, assuming best play.
I had never seen this happen until after I recommended
that Sanny's programming team implement check and
capture extentions. With these new "improvements",
Sanny's chess program now looks deeper (by far) than
any other, as indicated by the display screen. [Too bad
it can't see a two-move pawn fork.]

Black's 20... Rd5? allows White's attack to break through. Black, I
think, needed to play something like 20... Rd7 to contest the 7th
rank, though I've not looked closely at the position.

And I lost that game because I made a criminally stupid mistake
(forgetting that Black's 42... Rb6 attacked my undefended rook on b7
and playing 43.Rd1?x1000) in a position that I'm confident I would
have won against your program's awful endgame play, if I'd actually
been paying attention.

In one of the games I played yesterday, the computer's first 21 moves
took 0, 0, 54, 54, 96, 28, 52, 36, 138, 420, 566, 654, 220, 56, 564,
522, 186, 126, 570, 156 and 264 seconds. Discarding the first two,
which were from the opening book and not calculated, the average for
the next 19 moves was 250s -- four minutes. One of the moves took
nearly 11 minutes; four others took over eight minutes.

I do not believe that you have a computer that is four to eight times
faster than this one (1.6GHz Athlon).

I must admit, I never saw a full Ed Wood movie - just the Tim Burton
film about him. I can not recall an original Ed Wood movie running in a
theatre in Munich or in the other cities I was living.

Very enticing, eh?

Ah, Sanny is not as cynical and aggressive as Borat is, somehow I think
he really believes in his program. So, this makes him more like Ed Wood
- creating crap with no budget and limited talent - but with a lot of
enthusiasm and high expectations.
