What interface shall I use if I want to be able to play at several servers( i.e ICC, playchess, FICS etc)?

As far as I'm aware, you can only connect to Playchess with ChessBase's own client, which won't connect to any of the other servers. FICS and ICC use broadly compatible protocols. Winboard/ Xboard supports both; I think Babas Chess and EBoard are FICS only but I'm not sure. There are plenty of other interfaces, too, but I don't know about those.
