Default Blindfold Records

I don't mean to knock Soltis, whose articles I enjoy, but I am curious
as to how he gets a sequence of blindfold records as
3,8,10,12,16,22,23,25,29,32,34.

For another list, Fireside Book of Chess gives a bit more
substantiation of its claims:
3 (Philidor)
4,5,7,10,15 (Paulsen)
16 (Blackburne,Zukertort)
17,20,21,22 (Pillsbury
24 (Reti)
25 (Breyer)
26,28 (Alekhine)
29 (Reti)
30(Koltanowski)
32 (Alekhine)
34 (Koltanowski)
40,45 (Najdorf)

I can immediately spot one hole in both lists, and it is not the
dubious claim of the dubious William H Mundy that he played 24 games
blindflod in 1875 (appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Harper's, Forest
and Stream all in September 1875). Instead, this was a widely
circulated belief which came up regarding a person not on this list who
was regarded as the top blindfold player of the time.

Has anyone seen an attempt to make a serious list of these blindfold
records?

The missing record I was mentioning was a claim often given at the time
that Kieseritzky held the record with 4 blindfold games. I do not know
to what extent this is documented, but can provide quotes that it was
believed. Kieseritzky certainly was viewed as a great blindfold
player,, and had many blindfold performances; the record seems quite
believable to me.
