Here you will enjoy playing Chess with Computer.

There are lot of FREE and GOOD chess engines like crafty having an
ELO more than 2600 (GM standard) . You can use this engines with the
help of Winboard or Arena (http://www.playwitharena.com/)
There is no need to log on to this stupid site and play with its worst
engines.

You can also play with Human Opponents Online.

How many at a time ? I think less than the number of peoples
available in the newest chess servers...

Bye
Sanny

Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html

Uzytkownik "Shijith" napisal w wiadomosci
ps.com...

The number of players online at a perticular time is greater at ICC
than playchess.

The number is not so important. It is sometimes easier to find opponents on
playchess.org than on ICC. Oftentimes I can see a lot of chess software on
ICC but not a single human player.

You need to pay more amount(other than the registration fee) to
participate some tourneys and listen audio commentry. Not all services
included in the registration fee.

One can pay with ducats that can be won while playing in numerous
tournaments on playchess.com

However I think it`s only a small advantage for ICC. The interface for ICC
is still archaic to put it mildly.

The address I specify earlier has a small mistake
Try www.freechess.org. It is working now...

Yes, finally it works :-)

However it is much more difficult to find a decent human opponent on FICS
than on playchess.com or on ICC.

This is certainly a correct statement, but playchess is only free for
one year if you have bought Fritz. ICC is very expensive for an
internet site at $60 per year, but if you play enough you get your
money's worth.

I still like FICS. I can almost always get a game of some sort (though
with less choice than ICC) and it's free.

Jerzy, ICC has a new interface "Dasher" that is a lot like the
Playchess interface that is, mouse and menu driven as opposed
to the command line style of Blitzin. Give it a try.

As other have said ICC is good. For correspondence games I like
GameKnot. It has an excellent interface. Free or paid.

ICC also has correspondence I have 25 cc-games going on ICC.

Also I have started playing at IECG Server http://lss.chess-server.net/
a fine place for CC-Chess with many good European players. And it
is tied into the IECG rating system.

Yes. But the most worst place to play chess.

Yahoo's a pretty strong competitor for the title of `worst place to
play chess.'
