This is the worst possible site to play chess and the
poster has a vested interest.

Here I am going to put 8 reasons

1. You cant play agaist a human player without registering. It is not
possible to asses the standard of this site without playing against
human player.
2. Could not change the look and feel of the board and piece.
3. I started a game as guest and play against computer. It shows that
the game is a 10s/ move game, but the engine is taking more than 10
second per move. Some time it takes one minut !!!!!!!
4.There is no option to drag and drop piece.
5.The interface is always flickering
6.At last I register my account and log on. I wa the only player logged
in to the site..!!!!!! After serveral minuts one more player logged in
to the server. I dont want to play in a site which has only 2 or 3
users logged in..
7. It always shows a popup windows disturbing my play. My main job was
closing this window, not playing a game !!!!!
8. Not at all professional approach

You can add all problems of yahoo to this list.

I feel headache after completeing one game (Not actually completing I
just played a few moves and abort the game)

In a previous response Dave said that Yahoo is a pretty strong
competitor for the title of `worst place to
play chess.' But I think he never played here GetClub.

You are the winner no one Even yahoo cant beat you for this title most
worst place to play chess.

Ohhh one problem is there at yahoo youcan play chess, but here how can
you play agaist a human player.

Sanny , There are lot of problems too.....
A request to the owner of this site... Could you please close this one
....

No, I have been playing there since 2003 without any additional costs
and I have bought Fritz 8.

Then now you are playing as a guest type user. You dont have all the
facilities like chatting
Otherwise u must pay a yearly amount to get the serial number.

If I recall correctly, the older versions, like Fritz 8, came with
unlimited access. I am not sure if that was ever changed or if these older
serials were grandfathered (probably were if Jerzy still has access with
his old ID).

AFAIK older versions had a limited access to the internet server (one year).

I cannot see any limits in chessbase shop :

Jerzy, ICC has a new interface "Dasher" that is a lot like the
Playchess interface that is, mouse and menu driven as opposed
to the command line style of Blitzin. Give it a try.

Dasher ? Where can I download this ?

I've played at both. Note that I'm saying that I find Yahoo as bad as
GetClub, not that I find GetClub as good as Yahoo. :-)

So it was only Fritz 8 that came with a serial without a time limit?

Fritz 9 and 10 came with one-year serials only. I have those versions.
