I am now playing the Normal level again, and the program has un-done

pawn promotion (to a Queen) and my pawn stands on the last rank, dead
like a zombie. To top this off, it has even made its next move --
cozying its
King up right next to the pawn. I am at a standstill, as it won't even
allow
me to "capture" the King (everyone knows pawns don't capture sideways).
I was supposed to be delivering a mate in three moves or so, but
instead I
am just staring at a freak position, in disgust. Sanny, where are you?

What did you pressed "Queen" I suppose, Then why it do not promote to
Queen still a mystry. In all games it Promote to Queen then why not in
this game?

Game has been restored Now the Pawn is converted to Queen on Promotion
and you may Continue.

It looks like you stopped the game after Promoting to Queen and when
you restarted the game Queen turned into Pawn. It was because the game
was not recorded properly.

Now the Problem has been rectified So that you do not get such problem
in future.

"mystery"? No mystery at all - the program is simply BROKEN.

That screen did appear, and I chose a Queen. Shortly thereafter,
I was forced to interrupt the game, which was taking a very long
time per move.

I don't know. I have promoted countless pawns on GetClub
before, and usually I have no trouble. (See, for example, any
number of my 100+ wins.)

It's not really broken. My game was interrupted, and upon
resumption, the new Queen had somehow reverted back to
a pawn. Of course, no computer program will self-correct
such errors, and Sanny's intervention was thus required. I
wonder if I had failed to re-launch the game in a new
browser, perhaps. Often times I just open a new "tab".

Sanny, I have restarted this game in a new browser, and
even though the program's crazy K-e1 move has been undone,
my Queen still displays as a pawn. I believe the program is
also analyzing the position as though it is a (dead) pawn.

Perhaps the simplest solution would be to go back one
more move, so I can re-promote the pawn to a Queen
and continue from there. Thanks for your help.

Restart computer so that the Applet is loaded again. As there was a
change made to Applet. To get advantage of the new Applet you need to
start the browser again.

On our End the Queen is seen properly at the 8th rank. It is difficult
to refresh an Applet It needs to be restarted as when you start the
game in a new browser, the computer just duplicates the previous
version of Applet to save download time.

Start the game today (after restarting computer) and see if Queen is
seen or not. At our End Queen is displaying on 8th Rank.
