Why would an infinitely powerful Supreme Being care if it was
worshiped by mere mortal humans? The act of worshiping something or someone is to exalt that thing or person to a high esteem or position and to hold it and maintain it on a high level. We can imagine, for example, the adoration bestowed upon Bear Bryant, Alabama's great football coach. We can think of Robert E. Lee and his loyal Virginians. We can even think of Mafia bosses, political leaders, entertainers such as Elvis, and many other examples of worship including the worship of inanimate objects in some cases. In each case, the desire to be worshiped and the desire to worship are human inventions. Take away the worship and the object of worship falls in esteem; its exalted position vanishes, a painful experience for one who seeks the adoration of the weakling masses. Now, because a Supreme Being, such as the God most people presume exists, is infinitely powerful it is therefore already infinitely exalted and cannot be reduced no matter what. So why would God give a **** if people worshiped Him or not? Furthermore, and all powerful God already knows what He's going to do with everyone from the day each one of them is born all the way, each day, until each one dies. He, the infinitely powerful one, knows who has been and who is and who will be naughty or nice all the way through the whole deal. If God is a god that demands our worship, then he must not be all powerful if he cannot gain the worship of every potential worshipper. Under those circumstances it is very likely that there is no Supreme Being at all. He is merely an invention of the human imagination, a fairy tale and a great hoax upon the masses of religi-bumpkins. Old Haasie |

ups.com... Why would an infinitely powerful Supreme Being care if it was worshiped by mere mortal humans? Religions promise 'mortals' to become 'supreme beings' and therefore thay want mortals to obey their rules. Of course it is only a promise based on faith. Likewise many chess teachers/schools promise you to be taught by them to play chess well but it does not always happen ;-) |
