In my experience, both The British Chess Magazine and Chess Review
were pretty good during that period. Annual compilations of both are
often available from used-book sellers.

I already have some BCM ,good on tournament reports
but not much crosstables to my taste ,I wonder if Ceskoslovensky Sach
is better.
Chess Review is almost impossible to find for this period.

Another possibility is ChessBase. For many events, their databases
provide crosstables, even if not all games from a given tournament are
on the file.

My impression is that the crosstable is just generated from the
results in the database. So, if the database doesn't contain all the
games, the crosstable isn't complete, either. Is this incorrect?

No, I think the crosstables are separate files, so they can be full
and correct even if game scores are missing. Consulting my
MegaDatabase 2005, I have often found full crosstables for events
where the database does not have 100% of the event's games.

Oh, OK. I wonder if this is a difference between the full version of
ChessBase and the cut-down one that comes with Fritz. Or maybe I've
only noticed the cases where crosstables are missing games that are
missing in the database.
