Default Why you lose at chess

I'm trying to come up with a list of reasons why we lose at chess, which
is something approaching comprehensive while remaining short enough to
be manageable. I have examined the book of the same title by Tim
Harding, the book about chess mistakes by Andrew Soltis and the long
grim catalogue of disasters which comprise my own games. The list is
probably doing very well at being comprehensive, though could always be
extended.

However, I wondered if anyone out there has a view about what might be
the top ten? or even the top three?

May your pieces harmonise with your pawn structure and
your sacrifices be sound in all variations

Top one: Bad moves.

Number two: mis-hearing the stupid headset that was supposed to be
relaying Fritz 10's moves.

(BTW, congratulations to Chessbase for having the guts to call it
Fritz 10 rather than Fritz X. Shredder, too.)

Dave.

Thank you for that, but I wondered if you could be more vague?

Hell, I've made a career out of being specific, and I'm tired.
Tautology can be quite restful.
