Default Well, it's been fun.

Anyway, I'm leaving to go back to ICC, ChessCafe, and other sites where
people who like chess actually write about it and discuss it.
I leave the rest of you to stew in your own juice. Enjoy.

Okay! See ya!

Default Novelty Sicilian was Well, it's been fun.

1. e4 c5
2. Nf3 d6
3. d4 cd
4. Nd4 Nf6
5. Nc3 a6 [old school Najdorf]
6. Be2 e5 [Sveshnikov-lite!]
7. Nb3

okay, small break - this retreat is sometimes voluntary, and not hard for
black to handle, here it is mandatory since a6 is already played, but the
overall position is different, since the b3 Kt [worse square on the
board?] actually changes the entire pattern of the game from the 'usual'
a3 position of the Kt.

7. ... Be7
8. 0-0 Be6
9 f4 Qc7

another break, black has mobilised all but one of his minor pieces, while
white has castled, achieved one 'quiet' Bishop, one good and one 'daft'
knight. both pawn structures are compromised, but overall white's are
better, [non-backward + mobility] right

10. Kh1 Nbd7 [?]

That move is from Fritz.

11. g4 h6
12 g5 hg5
13 fg5 Nh7

And here is GM Short with the refutation of 10. ... Nbd7

14. Bg4! -- big novelty from Nigel [+0.5]

now what?

14. ... Ng5 [?] Fritz on 12/13 steadfast says [+0.9]
15 Bg5 Bg5
16 Be6 fe6
17 Qg4 Bf4
18 Qe6 Kd8

then

19. Rad1!!

and after Re8, Qd6 black is immobile and sunk

so instead of 14. ... Ng5 fritz cooks 14. ... g6

Which against best play also sinks.

Phil Innes
