Hi there,

I am wondering if anyone out here in RGC could upload the book "Akiba
Rubinstein: The Later Years" to a torrent site. I have "Akiva
Rubinstein: Uncrowned King", but cannot obtain "The Later Years"
because the first edition is out of stock and the 2nd edition has not
been printed yet.

Any help would be much appreciated.

That book is still under copyright. Without authorization from
Russell Enterprises, it sounds like the uploading you ask for would be
a criminal act. Some used copies are available; see http://tinyurl.com/282t9q
I know that a new editions of volume 2 is in the works. In the
meantime, I have the old edition. If there is something specific you
want, something small enough that posting it here would not be a
copyright violation, I might be willing to provide it for you.

When Amazon say ``usually dispatched within 4 to 6 weeks'' they

send you an E-mail saying we couldn't find it''. Annoyingly, even
once they've discovered that they can't get hold of the item, they
usually don't update the catalogue but continue to claim they can
usually find it within four to six weeks.

And the non-Amazon copies listed are ludicrously expensive --
approximately three and seven times the new price for a second-hand
copy!

Kingston? ;-) As a writer, that's awfully sporting of you. What
exactly is 'small enough'? I don't know copyright law in the UK, but
in the USA it's so convoluted (a multifactor test for fair use) that
it's been said by a copyright expert at Stanford University that the
only way to know if something is permitted under fair use doctrine is
to litigate it and see what the judge says.

When I posted my message, there was a non-Amazon copy offered for less
than 18 Pound. Soon after my posting it disappeared.
