I have a relative in prison and they can only use a cloth chessboard and

Does anyone know where I can buy a set of this nature ?

The Chessmate Ultima looks like it would be allowed.

I found what you need, read below:

the Ultima might do it, although not from Amazon
"Availability: This item is currently not available". And there are no
reviews of it.

it does have "High-quality, imitation Ostrich textured case covering
material"
Ultima sells it for $59.99

an alternate may be the fridgemate. This set is does double-duty as a
magnetic travel set and a refrigerator mounted chess set as well. The board
is approximately 7" square, and the disk pieces are 9/16" diameter magnetic
disks from our Classic Magnetic Piece Kit (some assembly required).

The FridgeMate also comes with a set of small, plastic, magnetic
Staunton-style pieces. The board and disk pieces grip your refridgerator
securely, or may instead be carried in the durable, black-nylon zipper-pouch
that comes with it for easy storage.

Now - the only question is how to get this guy a fridge door to put it
on. Maybe it could be bolted to the cell wall? Maybe that's a problem?

Somewhere on the sight I found what we were looking for!

Our 9/16 inch diameter, 20 ml. rigid vinyl, diagram-style magnetic
chess piece disks are durably printed and clear-coated, and will last for
the life of your ChessMate® Pocket Chess Set (But if you lose any, we sell
these replacements sets of 40 pieces with attachable magnets in a
self-assembly kit for just $9.99).

The ChessMate® Replacement Disk Pieces are $9.99 per kit. Item #CM116
there is an illustration of them at
http://www.chessmate.com/chessmate1.html#fridgemate and the note above seems
to indicate that they are not magnetic.

Even better, they are Handmade in the USA by ChessMate, and here
surely is a business opportunity to produce the new Cellmate Set?

Cordially, Phil Innes
