Board, Sam) and I don't think Garrett's Board experience gives him a
true picture of the current situation.

Bill Goichberg
I knew that Bill was going to say that because Bill was always saying
what a good board member Garrett Scott was because Garrett Scott
mostly voted with Bill.

That is how Bill defines the difference between the "good" and "bad"
board members. The Good board members are those that vote with Bill.
The Bad board members are those that vote against Bill.

As to his claim that my account is fiction, Bill is being a bad boy
again. I distinctly recall board a meeting at the Newark Hilton Hotel
in Newark New Jersey where exactly these things happened.
Incidentally, this was possibly the last meeting of the board by Fan
Adams, who died shortly thereafter.

When votes were taken, they would go around the table, each member
stating what his vote was and giving the reason.

In one instance, Don Schultz, who was charing the meeting, wanted to
vote going around the table clockwise, left to right. Jim Eade
objected, saying that the vote was done that way last time, so this
time the vote should be taken counter-clockwise instead.

The point, as everybody knew, was the fool in the middle. Eade usually
sat next to Dorsch and Goichberg usually sat next to Schultz. Garrett
Scott would vote the same way that the person who spoke before him had
voted, so his vote would be determined by whether the vote was taken
clockwise or counterclockwise.

However, if somebody who voted after him had spoken persuasively,
Garrett Scott would change his vote.

I also remember Garrett Scott getting up and walking out the door
without saying a word. I assumed that he was going to the men's room.
When he did not come back I was informed that he often does that,
leave before the board meeting is over and catch a flight back to
Normal, Illinois. The board had gotten used to that. Then, in case of
a tie vote (as often happened) someone would say "Let's call Garrett
Scott to break the tie."
