Not more than one or two posts back, Dr. IM Innes O come on! speak your opinions about the topic! Or or you a rat of a different color? If you cannot stand the light, then retreat back into the shadows with the other creepy-crawlies. loudly proclaimed *in favor of* voicing opinions; but it seems that he always backracks when those same opinions are not to his personal liking. Clownish stuff. Let's just see if any substantiation turns up. Substantiation of what? Exactly. Dr. IM Innes, Esq. has no clue what I was talking about, but he does know his job; that is, to "hound" anyone who is not toeing the ratpack party line. If anyone dares ask for verification of tossed out charges by someone on a certain list of names, it is hound dog Innes' job to bark and howl at them. Let me see... oh yes: I was of course talking about an unsupported claim by Nigel Short that somewhere out there is a confession of cheating by Zurab A...vili. Having never heard of this incident before, I was curious to know if such a confession actually exists, or if NS was making that up as part of his ad hominem attack -- you know, to "add heft", as one Evans ratpacker likes to say. One reason this interests me is that this ZA character seems to be an elected or appointed official of some sort at FIDE, so you can imagine that from my perspective, this is another litmus test of "how low can FIDE go?", versus "is Nigel Short a low-class dreg?". I, of course, do not consider the studious avoidance of this issue as evidence one way or the other, since the Evans ratpackers are in some cases not even bright enough to comprehend a simple question! Is that how you characterise world chess affairs in the cornfields? LOL what was your simple question? i am sorry, but you seemed to bury it in words. if you have a simple question where you are do you go to someone and call them a rat, then still demand an answer to your satisfaction. elsewhere, i can tell you, people who don't know but would like to know, keep open minds, and if they did as you did, in person, would get a smack in the mouth -- alternatively be dismissed as a kid its a choice phil innes -- help bot |

Of course, nearly-an-IMbicile Innes has no quote of me making any such "demand". elsewhere, i can tell you, people who don't know but would like to know, keep open minds Bingo. This is why I dismiss the studious avoidance of any answer by stupid ratpackers as no evidence one way or the other. I wait for the proof to come in, however long it may take. Heck, for all I know this may have appeared in Chess Life a year or two ago. and if they did as you did, in person, would get a smack in the mouth -- alternatively be dismissed as a kid LOL. Of course, were these "people" to be, say, Josh Waitzkin or Chuck Norris, it would be run-and-hide time for brave-pretender Innes! In fact, I expect even Skippy Repa would send brave Sir Robin Innes off on a fast hop- skip (see The Onion Field) and away. When it comes to talking the talk, Sir IM Innes is the man; but when it comes to real life? We all see the nearly-a-2450-in-his-dreams as a decent Class A player, but not as John Wayne. Get a grip, fella; you don't frighten anyone except the perhaps psychologists. -- help bot |

THE ILLEGAL SPEECH "FIDE deputy president Georgios Makropoulos and vice-president Zurab Azmaiparashvili spent more time in San Luis at their hotel 16 km away than they did in the tournament hall despite being paid thousands of dollars, plus considerable expenses, to do their job on the Appeal's Committee. It came as absolutely no surprise to me that these dunderheads would flunk the first crisis that they were presented with i.e. Elista toiletgate. I might add that Azmai is singularly inappropriate for such work having, by his own admission, cheated in winning the 2003 European Championship". You can kill journalists, deny nations entry into FIDE, lie, cheat, and steal, money, but a Russian murderer doesn't want to be called a DUNDERHEAD. Marcus Roberts I wonder if Short, who I think married a Greek and lives in Greece, speaks Greek? By now he should know a few Greek swear words, and can call Georgios Makropoulos --who is Greek-- something stronger than DUNDERHEAD. How about "MALAKA" (masturbator)? Well maybe that's not that so strong, since everybody uses that term in Greece. The real question: is Short a provocateur, or a jerk off? Is he a Master Baiter or a Masturbator? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Masturbator He is a damn fine chess player, insofar as I can tell when I watch him play online (he's yet to lose a game when I watch). In short, master Short needs to refine his swear words. RL |

It seemed to me to *obsess* over Princess Dianna, and as a result, was not so much about the Queen as it was about how the mass media are the real rulers these days. Look, I hear Elton John and God knows who else was awarded the title "Sir"; as it has now been cheapened to the point of meaninglessness, it would be a fitting title for a man such as yourself, IMO. -- help bot |

I believe it was he who lost repeatedly to an unknown opponent, and wrote it off to the fellow on the other end being former world champ BF (who later denied having *ever* played this way). "My proof that it was Fischer is that he knew the answer to ten billion questions offhand, including how to convincingly refute the French Defense, the revised bust of the King's Gambit (quite convincing as well), why the Caro Kann is worthless, and even how to cook duck flambou in white wine sauce, the way Regina Fischer always used to." I believe it was in 1988 that a world blitz championship was held, and I can't even recall if GM Short played. In any case, there is no reason to believe that GM Fischer could bash him at blitz at his advanced age. My take is that it was probably GM Larry Evans on ICC. -- help bot |

Yeah, I vaguely recall this a while ago. "My proof that it was Fischer is that he knew the answer to ten billion questions offhand, including how to convincingly refute the French Defense, the revised bust of the King's Gambit (quite convincing as well), why the Caro Kann is worthless, and even how to cook duck flambou in white wine sauce, the way Regina Fischer always used to." Regina Fischer must have been his mom, right? Since Fischer married a Japanese girl only recently. Trivia: Barbara Strisand and Fischer went to the same high school. That's interesting. I thought he was an old geezer and that blitz is a young man's game--I would have taken Short over Evans. Bot seems like you know a lot of good chess gossip. Sorry if I flamed you in that thread where we were determing who the best chess players were, according to how Crafty rated their championship games (well, then again you were wrong and I was clearly right in that thread...hahaha). Yes, I think that was Short. As I recall, he later conceded that he'd been duped.
