Default How to Kill a Forum USCF Style

WELCOME BACK TO THE THIRD GRADE

The new USCF rules amount to protecting the
politicians from direct criticism.

Take Sam Sloan's outing of board member Robert
Tanner, who arranged fake tournaments to raise his rating.

Under the new rules, members could not say that
"EB member Robert Tanner is a cheater" or that "Robert
Tanner cheats." We can merely say that he arranges
tournaments to raise his rating against fictional opponents.

To be sure, one can make a meaningful point --
at times, even more strongly -- by merely describing
rather than concluding. Still, it is a dead world of
the intellect when one is banned from reaching conclusions.

The USCF Forum regulations will prove a boon to
rgcp, yet one should never take joy when others
retreat from open discussion. These regulations, designed
by politicians to serve politicians, are mindless and
un-American.

Welcome everyone to the third grade again.

Yours, Larry Parr

It is a true shame to see Randy Bauer leading the censorship
charge. He can't seem to help himself from devoting his tenure
at the USCF to the cause of covering up the malfeasance of
others.

I agree. Very disappointing.

Another thought regarding the no impersonations rule. It seems to me that
the rule comes close to being an admission against interest in that there is
no reason for such a rule where Issues Forum members must be USCF members
and identified as such by membership number. IMO, it could only have come
about because of the behavior of some EB members.
