Default Hikaru No Go anime leads to large increase in grade school children playing Go in Japan

The showing of Hikaru No Go in Japan resulted in large increase in
grade school children playing Go over there. I posted this to these
here to discuss the possibility of chess, or other games being able to
do similar. To people who think that chess and other games are just
too dull to generate interest, I don't think this is true, if Go was
able to do it.
