When were these said? Last month? Ten years ago??

What is it to you, Sir?

Rumor has it that Fine was consulted via the Ouija board a couple days
ago.

Yes. I understand that is your level of inquiry.

What will you do with yourself after all this is resolved by grown-ups?

Weren't you editor of Chess Life when he made that statement?

No, he was not. That statement was made in Yugoslavia during the 1992
match with Boris Spassky. Parr was the editor of Chess Life in around
1985.

Sam Sloan

Oh, so it was after Parr ruined it. Makes sense.

This appears to be a slight misquotation of something Fine wrote in
1976, in the second edition of "The World's Great Chess Games," page
224. Fine wrote "The USCF *_was_* [not is] a meaningless paper
organization," referring to the USCF's failure to resist Soviet
political machinations in deciding how a successor to world champion
Alekhine was to be determined. The full paragraph:

"Unfortunately for the Western masters the Soviet political
organization was stronger than that of the West. The U.S. Chess
Federation was a meaningless paper organization, generally
antagonistic to the needs of its masters. The Dutch Chess Federation
did not choose to act. The FIDE was impotent.
"The result was a rescheduling of the tournament for the following
year ..."

So in that sentence Fine was referring specifically to the USCF in
1947. How long he continued to hold this opinion, or if he ever
changed his mind, I am not sure.

Probably make do with watching you make a fool of yourself over and
over. Same old, same old. Been there, done that. But it beats
working.

When do you plan to take a refresher in English comp and training in
use of spelling and syntax checkers?

By the way, it seems to me that the new Polgar/Truong/Gregory
Alexander website and forum is on the verge of dying out.

http://www.chessdiscussion.com/

After getting off to a good start with hundreds of registered users
and postings in the first few days, there have been very few postings
recently except for postings by Susan herself.

By the way, what happened to Paul Truong? No word has been heard from
him recently, unless all of the posts by "Susan" are actually by
Truong.

Of course, one reason why that forum may be dying out is that posters
quickly discover that any posting asking embarrassing questions or
that does not heap the highest praise on Polgar, Truong and Alexander
will be deleted.

Gregory Alexander does not seem to be at all concerned that my
reputation was ruined by 2463 Fake Sam Sloan postings, plus the
reputations of several other individuals were harmed as well.

He is only concerned about the reputations of himself, Polgar and
Truong.

sure, man. how cool

what is it to you? you nixed the previous inquiry, as you do all such
questions

how quickly you abandon your subject matter and all your certainties! -
suspecting nothing at all - you would not make a good journalist, nor a
jurer, come to that

but this is but pain or enthusiasm, until you know yourself why you write
anything at all, you cannot explain it to me

Actually they are made by me and Lex, since we plan to take over the world.
We did away with the other people, according to plan. Ok with you? [Is it
though? How come you write about it? - Nothing you write ever seems to have
a reason that doesn't come off as other than Marvel Comic Hero talk of
villains and such - thousands of villainousnouses!]

We have been paid nineteen million thousand dollars to do so, and heck, its
better than daytime tv; though Maud is getting sick of Harry, and leaning
towards Edgard, who she doesn't know is gay, neither do the audience, since
he really is, but is playing a straight role as a handsome vet who has seen
troubles, and now is chastened, but straight and true thereby - compared
with him, other people seem so cheap - yet, she is loyal, and is afraid for
Harry, who is like to do dramatic things and accuse everyone - even his own
family, of draggin him up wrong - and who once bought 30 megabucks tickets
then immediately ripped them all to pieces and threw them into the bin!
Anyway...

We also get the use of the secret Polgar Center Lear Jet, which can get us
down to Polgar Island quick as a flash for the weekends, so we can visit
Gata's Camel which he won in Kalmykia, thanks to the Great Leader who
thoughtfully gave it to him.

Dang! Gotta go... gotta pack my toothbrush... have a great weekend!@

BTW - I also had arthroscopic surgery, and I'll tell you about it after i
get back. Hear its goining to rain in NY all tomorrow. But we need rain, no?

Cordially, Le Penguin

It's only when you're unsure of yourself that you repeat the same
"subject matter" over and over, Phil. Well, I suppose sometimes you
forget what you said, so you say it again or argue with it, but that's
a personal quirk on your part.

- you would not make a good journalist, nor a
jurer, come to that

Ya mean, just cause I'd sit there making little nooses out of pieces
of string, and drawing my index finger across my throat periodically?
They'd know I was only funnin' a little, wouldn't they?

but this is but pain or enthusiasm, until you know yourself why you write
anything at all, you cannot explain it to me

But I've never tried to explain to you why I write. In fact, I'm
unable to explain to myself why I write to you. Given your inability
to understand less complicated issues, why waste the bandwidth? I
mean, there's only a few billion terabytes to go around.
