place in Group A, both drawing with their respective opponents in the
final round. India's Viswanthan Anand could have had a piece of first
place if he had defeated Vladimir Kramnik today, but had to settle for
a draw against his Russian opponent for the world title later this
year.

Sergey Movesian of Slovakia won Group B by a full point over Nigel
Short of England and Etienne Bacrot of France. All three players drew
their final round games.

Fabiano Caruana of Italy won Group C by a full two points over second
place finishers Parimarjan Negi and Dimitri Reinderman, both of the
Netherlands. That group came down to Caruana's match against Negi
today in which Caruana won in a 61-move Ruy Lopez.

My apologies Phil. You are absolutely correct.

Your coverage was awesome and most helpful. To keep up with the
matches and to report on them, I used a combination of the following:

1.) Your analysis here in the Google Group
2.) Susan Polgar's coverage on her Blog site
3.) The live graphical feed of the games from the Corus website

All were expertly done and appreciated !!

Chessdom.com also had great coverage of their match of the day in each
round.

Believe me, I know how much time and effort it takes to keep up on
this stuff.

Very impressive performances by the young stars. It just hit me that in a RR tournament Carlsen finishes ahead of Anand,Kramnik and Topalov (among others) And it looks like Caruana is ready to move up to the next level. Let's see if he can compete with the big boys within the next two years. I bet he can !!!
