the fellow who invented penicillin? Now,
there's something to admire. Not to say
that medicine is the only worthy field of
endeavor-- far from it. But chess... chess

utter devotion to mastering the movements
of wooden pieces on a checkered board, is
a sad reflection on the state of society; a
society in which a few individuals cannot
find any way to relate to others, and so
they retreat into an artificial world of such
narrowness that they may just as well be
living on a desert island in the middle of
an ocean, eating coconuts and building
sand castles... .

My advice to you is: don't get caught up
in chess and waste your life away; it is
only a game (though because I am no
doubt higher-rated than you, I am a much
